“I was told that he hit [unidentified television co-worker] with a slab. Once hit the person with the slab. They said he thought it was a plastic cup so he pressed down on the arm but he hit it so hard I really think they banged the nerve.” — Alec Baldwin’s former co-worker
The 70-year-old actor allegedly punched a crew member during an argument during a taping of his Saturday Night Live impersonation of Donald Trump, according to multiple sources who witnessed the incident.
A spokeswoman for Baldwin told the New York Times that there were “problems” on the set of “Saturday Night Live” that caused Baldwin to quit, but refused to elaborate. “There is an incident on the set that was out of character for Alec, and he feels horrible about it,” the spokeswoman said. “He regrets it and it does not reflect who he is.”
The incident happened during a taping of “Weekend Update,” where Baldwin plays President Trump, at 30 Rock in New York, according to those who were in the building at the time.
